ARI of Connecticut, Inc. has enriched the lives of people with disabilities, enabling them to achieve their fullest potential, since 1952. ARI provides residential, day, employment and recreation services for over 100 adults with developmental disabilities in Stamford, CT. For nearly two decades, the ARI Artists' Initiative has provided individuals at ARI the opportunity to express themselves through art.

Founded by award winning artist Donald Axleroad, the ARI Artists' Initiative has showcased the artwork of nearly 30 artists in many shows throughout the State. Local accomplished artist, Carolyn Lyngholm currently teaches the weekly class at ARI.  She utilizes her skills to guide the fifteen current students. The class honors Donald Axleroad and past ARI artists' memories and proves that we are all artists at heart.
