Community is not Canceled: Happy and Hopeful Homecoming for Stamford Police Officer Michael Burke

Fellow Stamford police officers picked up Officer Michael Burke—recovered from his three week battle with COVID-19—from Cassena Care Rehabilitation Center on April 14 and brought him home.

The department shared his recovery story as a spark of hope for the community. Officer Burke contracted COVID-19 and was admitted to Greenwich Hospital on March 23, where his mother continues to receive treatment for the virus. He was released after three weeks and transferred to Cassena Care Rehabilitation Center to recover.

Officer Burke and the rest of the Stamford Police Department expressed their gratitude for all the health care workers at Greenwich Hospital, Stamford Hospital, and Cassena Care Rehabilitation Center who work tirelessly every day to take care of current and recovering patients in our community.

The department continues to keep Officer Burke’s mother, and all fighting the virus, in their thoughts.
