The victim reported the crime and was treated at the Stamford Hospital for the assault.

The Stamford Police Department completed our investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for Awad Nour charging him with Sexual Assault in the 2nd degree and his bond was set at $50,000.00. He is scheduled to appear in Court on July 30, 2019.

While we are glad we were able to take this predator off the street and hopefully provide the victim with some degree of justice, we want to continue to warn everyone to be careful and vigilant when using ride-share applications. Identify that the driver and the vehicle match the information from the application, pay close attention to the route your driver is taking to your destination, make sure you are able to get out of the car, sit in the rear passenger area, keep your phone in hand, make sure a third person knows your using the application and share your route with them and finally, if at all possible avoid traveling alone at night.

The Stamford Police Department wants everyone to enjoy all that the Stamford Downtown area has to offer but at the end of the night, we want you to get home safe.
