A Father's Day Gift Idea: Help Build Better Local Dads

The Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center & Kennedy’s Invite You To Help Local Dads & Families in June

Text HELP4KIDS to Support Fatherhood 24:7 Program

As Father's Day approaches, The Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center leaders are sharing news about the important, positive role of the father. They report that the Fatherhood 24:7 program is helping to build better fathers, families and futures in Fairfield County.

The Center, along with Kennedy’s All-American Barber Club, invites community members to honor their own fathers this month, by making donations to the program that helps local Dads to understand and embrace what it is be a committed and caring parent.

Secure donations can be made by phone, sending the text HELP4KIDS to 243-725.  Individuals can also donate online, visiting the Center’s website, exchangeclubparentingskillscenter.com.

The Center's Fatherhood 24:7 initiative is an exciting, home-based approach that inspires and educates fathers to become more involved, responsible and committed parents, says Executive Director Donna L. Miller.   “When our parent educators teach fathers to engage in this way, it can bring dramatic, meaningful transformation to a family."

Research shows that a child with a positive father figure is less likely to be incarcerated or have teen pregnancy and more likely to complete high school and move on to create a successful and happy adult life.

Miller adds that the Center hopes to reach more Fairfield County Dads in the coming months and hopes individuals will honor their own fathers, with small or larger donations to the program.

On Thursday, June 14, local Dads who have completed the program will join Center staff members for a special graduation celebration at Kennedy’s Darien location, 1089 Post Road. The fathers will be treated to haircuts and grooming services, just in time for the Father’s Day weekend.  They will receive words of encouragement and certificates honoring their commitment to creating a stable, safe and caring environment for their children.

Kennedy’s is additionally offering a 10% discount at Stamford and Darien locations for customers who mention Fatherhood 24:7 in June.  Visit online, at kennedysbarberclub.com
