Building One Community Crowdfunding for Support Services for Immigrant Families!

-- For every $25 raised for Family Services Program, organization to give away 100 tickets for recent immigrant families to attend popular event --

Stamford, CT, July 26, 2018—Building One Community – The Center for Immigrant Opportunity is raising money to provide vital academic and support services for immigrant families. For every $25 raised, they can give away one ticket for immigrant children and parents to enjoy a Family Fun Weekend event at the Hey Stamford Food Festival to be held at Stamford’s Mill River Park on August 25th and 26th.

Building One Community is proud to partner with Mill River Park as they provide initiatives for many families in our community to learn and enjoy together.

According to Building One Community’s Executive Director Catalina Horak, “With recent events causing uncertainty and turmoil for our immigrant families, we welcome all activities that encourage and allow them to spend time together in this community they call home,” she explained.

Funds will support family-focused programming at Building One Community, including academic help for children and arranging bilingual interpreters for parent-teacher conferences in the Stamford Public Schools.

Horak said, “When you make a donation, children and their parents will have the opportunity to learn and share through enriching activities together. We hope everyone will take a look, give if they can, and share online to help spread the word!”
