Housatonic Community College (HCC) was awarded a $2,975 grant by Connecticut Humanities to support the College’s 3rd Annual One Book, One College program.
The program is comprised of a shared read experience and associated programming designed to promote discussion and a deeper understanding issues we’re facing in our nation and around the world. One Book One College connects the HCC community with residents of the greater Bridgeport area by creating engaging conversations both on campus and in our homes.
“Communities thrive through interaction, and creating connection around important topics that affect us locally and globally helps us all to have a deeper understanding of one another,” said Paul Broadie, President of Housatonic Community College. “We’re grateful to Connecticut Humanities for their generous support.”
The book selection will be announced early next year, along with a listing of a variety of events in connection with the One Book, One College program, including lectures, writing workshops and a visit by the book’s author. All events will be free and open to the public.
