Stamford, CT – United Way of Western Connecticut and Stamford Cradle to Career (SC2C) are excited to announce that Edith Presley has been named President of Stamford Cradle to Career. Ms. Presley brings a strong educational background, a core understanding of the organization’s mission and vision, and an unwavering commitment to Stamford’s youth.
Prior to joining SC2C, Ms. Presley spent more than twenty years in education, educational leadership, and community organizing. Throughout her career, Ms. Presley’s work focused on equity and inclusion and a commitment to ensuring that all students can succeed and thrive in social and academic environments. In her most recent capacity, Ms. Presley served as an Education Advisor with DOMUS Kids in Stamford, where she worked closely with students, families, Stamford Public School staff, and community stakeholders to ensure that every child has an opportunity to succeed in school. Her educational leadership experience also includes time at Lighthouse Community Corporation and Stamford Public Educational Foundation where she helped to meet the resource needs of Stamford residents and coordinate services for students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Presley spent twelve years at Stamford Public Schools as Human Resources Administrator at Central Office, Co-Principal at Roxbury Elementary Schools, Principal at Julia Stark Elementary School, Assistant Director of Special Education Services, and Assistant Principal at Dolan Middle School. She holds a Master of Administration in Education from Mercy College.
In considering her role with Stamford Cradle to Career and United Way, Ms. Presley offered the following, “I am ecstatic to serve our community as President of Stamford Cradle to Career. This opportunity will bridge my career in leadership, passion for education, and lived experiences of being a graduate, educator, and parent of Stamford. I am very excited to join such an amazing team, and looking forward to continuing the growth of this accomplished organization.”

Stamford Cradle to Career is a collective impact partnership that works to align community resources to ensure that all youth succeed in education, career, and life. United Way of Western Connecticut serves as the backbone entity for Stamford Cradle to Career, providing management and fiscal support for the partnership.
