United Way of Western Connecticut Mobilizes more than 150 Volunteers to Give Back in Stamford

What:

United Way of Western Connecticut will engage more than 150 volunteers from 9 corporate partners and the City of Stamford for its annual Day of Action, a day dedicated to outdoor community service projects throughout Stamford.

Originally known as “Day of Caring,” this tradition began at United Way of Western Connecticut in 1994 with a mission to spread the value of volunteerism while increasing awareness of local human service agencies. Today, Day of Action bridges the gap between our donors and other nonprofit agencies by demonstrating the difference that an entire day of volunteerism can make in our communities.

Volunteers will be located at various sites for seven nonprofit agency partners. Combined with volunteers who participated in UWWC’s Northern Fairfield County/Southern Litchfield Day of Action on June 8, volunteers will have generated 1,590 hours of service for a total of more than $53,000 of volunteer contribution.

When:

Day of Action will take place on Tuesday June 14, 2022 at 10am.

United Way of Western Connecticut will hold an online kickoff event on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 3:30pm.

Volunteers will head to project sites between 9:30-10am and can be expected to complete approximately 5 hours of volunteerism.
