Chelsea Piers Connecticut and Chelsea Piers New York are excited to host the fifth annual Winter Challenge gymnastics meet at Chelsea Piers Connecticut. The meet, which features events for both male and female athletes, will take place Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th at Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford. Approximately 900 athletes will compete in this year’s meet ranging from beginner to advanced level gymnasts. There are 54 teams of athletes that come from six states including Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. The event is sanctioned by USAG and utilizes all certified USAG equipment.
“We are very excited to host the fifth annual Winter Challenge. This event is one that we look forward to because of the great success it has had over the years,” commented Greta Wagner, Executive Director of Chelsea Piers Connecticut. “We are proud to provide this opportunity to bring together both Chelsea Piers New York and Chelsea Piers Connecticut, and to showcase the extremely talented competitive gymnasts in the region.” The Winter Challenge runs Saturday to Sunday. The girl’s meet will take place in the Field House while the boy’s competition will be staged in the Gymnastics facility.
