STAMFORD CT – Park(ing) Day will return to Stamford Downtown on Friday, September 21, 2018.
Park(ing) Day is a one-day, world-wide event that allows businesses and community members to convert on-street parking spaces into pedestrian-friendly urban parks, or parklets. Each participant will program the parklet thus energizing the street with a variety of activities. The Stamford Downtown Special Services District (Stamford Downtown), in partnership with the City of Stamford, is excited to re-introduce parklets along Bedford Street.
This year, six (6) Bedford Street businesses will participate. Their collective efforts will energize the streetscape while highlighting the potential of parklets. This year’s Stamford Downtown Park(ing) Day participants, and respective activities, will include:
16 Handles (219 Bedford Street) – DJ and music
Chic Jack’s Vintage Clothing (95 Bedford Street) – Display of vintage clothing
Life Cycle (135 Bedford Street) – Spin Bike Demonstrations
Lorca Coffee Bar (125 Bedford Street) – Café and board games
Metropolitan Dance Center (105 Bedford Street) – Dance class demonstrations
Stamford Yoga Center (13 Spring Street) – Yoga demonstrations and mini-classes.
Stamford Park(ing) Day activities will happen throughout the day and conclude at 7pm. Visit Stamford Downtown and experience Park(ing) Day.
