The Loft Artists Association invites people of all ages to participate in two “Free Community Drawing Events” to be held Saturday, March 16 and Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 12 to 3:30 pm at the Loft Artists Gallery, 575 Pacific Street, Stamford, CT.
“We are excited each year to open our studios and galleries to the public for two Saturday afternoons focused on the art of drawing. LAA artists are eager to share their skills and techniques in a variety of informal as well as small workshop settings,” says LAA Director, Mark Macrides. Professional artists will be available throughout the afternoon offering tips and instruction in what has become a very dynamic and energetic annual event! The event is open to adults, children and families with activities for all.
One of the event highlights is the annual graffiti wall, where participants can sketch their ideas and images right on the wall! Live models from the Ballet School of Stamford will pose with LAA artists providing drawing instruction. A variety of still life set-ups and portrait models will be accessible in various places. Smaller and more formal workshops with instruction on perspective, pastel and portraiture are included. A variety of drawing tools and paper are available.
There is free parking, and handicapped access is available by appointment only. For directions and more information visit loftartists.org.
The mission of the LAA is to provide artists with a supportive environment, opportunities to exhibit their work, and networking opportunities while reaching out to the community at large with education and artistic expression. LAA members exhibit their work locally, nationally, and internationally.
Sponsored in part by The City Arts Partnership Program, David Martin, Mayor of Stamford, Louis J. Kuriansky Foundation, Bob and Pat Phillips and with support from the Department of Economic and Community Development, Connecticut Office of the Arts”.
