The Italian Center of Stamford (the IC) announced today that they have partnered with Stamford North Little League (SNLL) to host a Community Food Drive at the IC on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 11:00am-2:00pm. The food will be donated to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.
“The IC has a long history of giving back to the community,” said Jonathan T. Hoch Sr., Executive Director of the IC. “We are delighted to team up with Stamford North Little League to help families in Stamford and the surrounding towns who are struggling during this difficult time.”
“One of the goals of Stamford North Little League is to help our players realize the importance of community service and helping others,” said Jim Lash, President of Stamford North Little League. “I can’t think of a better opportunity to demonstrate this than a food drive to help those who are suffering from hunger in our local area.”
The following items are needed to help feed families in our community: Breakfast Cereals, Instant Oatmeal, Pasta, Jars of Pasta Sauce, Canned Fruit, Bottles & Boxes of Juice, Shelf Stable Milk, Peanut Butter, Grape Jelly, Progresso Soup, Campbell's Chunky Soup, Mac & Cheese, Dried Beans (1 lb bags), Fruit Cups, White or Brown Rice (1 lb bags), Canned Tuna & Chicken.
Contactless Drop Off is available. Drop off will be under the awning of the main IC building located at 1620 Newfield Avenue. Checks made out to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County are also be accepted.
The IC is a membership based multi-faceted community club committed to providing its members and community with outstanding recreational and social experiences. We take pride in our rich history of supporting meaningful philanthropic endeavors to strengthen our community and seek to provide exceptional education and enriching youth development.
The IC is a non-profit organization that gives back to the greater Stamford area through scholarships, senior lunches and other community service projects.

Stamford North Little League is an affiliate of Little League International, the world’s largest volunteer run youth organization. Stamford North Little League serves boys and girls ages 4-12 who live in Springdale and North Stamford. Registration is underway for the spring season for all levels from Tee Ball through the Majors.
