Boys & Girls Club of Stamford (BGCS) will celebrate and reimagine women's futures in leadership as it hosts International Women's Day #ChooseToChallenge on March 8, 2021, at 7:00 pm.
The event will take place virtually. International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. According to program officials, BGCS emphasizes leadership skills, self-confidence, and a sense of self.
They sought exceptional women in leadership not only to celebrate International Women’s Day, but to demonstrate to their young girls how they can define their futures. BGCS CEO, Rowena Track, will moderate conversations with distinguished women leaders including Indra Nooyi, Former Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo; Margaret Keane, CEO of Synchrony; Kathleen Silard, President and CEO of Stamford Health; Juanita James, President and CEO of Fairfield County Community Foundation.
The BGCS event will explore the historical lack of empowerment of women and girls through this legendary panel's experiences and will challenge how best to drive change for our girls' future. Collectively, the women raise awareness of the significant role mentorship played in achieving their full potential. Each panelist will also share how they overcame their lives' challenges and how they believe women and girls can shape a gender-equal world post-COVID-19.
