Open Mic Night at Carriage Barn Arts Center, New Canaan

Calling all singers, songwriters and performers to New Canaan! Sign up for a slot to perform up to two songs on stage. Hosted by guitarist and bandleader Michael Lewis-Smith, this Open Mic event is open to all ages and experience levels.

Whose Barn Is It Anyway? at Ridgefield Theater Barn

The Role in the Hay Players bring their unique brand of improv stylings back to Ridgefield with Matt Austin, Jody Bayer, David Fritsch, Rick Hodder, Pamme Jones, Melissa Power, and Lisa Tancredi. This spontaneous evening of skits and games, based on suggestions from the audience, has no script and no plot - which is exactly what should make it a night to remember! Doors open at 7pm.

Blues 101: A History of Blues Music in America at Fairfield Public Library

Enjoy an entertaining afternoon with Ramblin’ Dan Stevens and his educational, multi-media program on the history of the blues in America. Dan will perform on his homemade, primitive guitars just like the ones used by early bluesmen and played with a “bottleneck” slide. 

India Cultural Center’s HoliFest 2022 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, Greenwich

Saturday, May 14, 3:00 pm

Celebrate Holi at a community-wide event featuring music and dancing, kids’ activities, food vendors, and a huge color throw. Participants will receive several bags of color and the first 1,000 people to register will receive a white t-shirt to wear for the color throw.

Thomas/Ortiz Dance at Darien Arts Center

Performing repertoire that explores a multitude of thought-provoking and socially-relevant themes, this company has been creating contemporary dance for over 20 years with fresh and emotionally engaging vision. The company of ten dancers from culturally diverse backgrounds will perform choreography by Ted Thomas and Frances Ortiz, including two new work along with fan favorites spanning the last two decades.

The Sixties Show at The Ridgefield Playhouse

If you love music from The Doors, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and other bands from the sixties, then don’t miss this note-for-note re-creation of iconic. Former band members of The Who, Bob Dylan, and NBC TV’s Saturday Night Live band bring you a multi-media event that will include archival audio and newsreel footage with an all-new set list, new staging and special effects.

Pete Wikul Band Show at Ridgefield Theater Barn

An all-star lineup, a feel-good concert, an intimate atmosphere. What more could you ask for? Pete Wikul, on drums, will be joined onstage by the incredibly talented band of Ralph Lalama on tenor sax, Max Darche on trumpet, Don Falzone on bass, and Rob Aries on keyboard. Expect an eclectic mix of jazz, bossa nova, rock, blues, and R&B. Doors open 7pm. Bring food & drink!

“Inaugural Journey” Artist Talk at The Norwalk Art Space

As part of the “Inaugural Journey” exhibition, enjoy a lively conversation featuring Resident Artists Francisco Mandujano, Lorena Sferlazza, Remy Sosa, and Emily Teall, as well as TNAS Educational Co-Directors Darcy Hicks and Duvian Montoya. Moderated by David Green, Executive Director of The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County.

INTEMPO’s Cultural Crossover Concert: Afro-Latinx Diaspora at Norwalk Concert Hall

Showcasing Afro-Latinx and classical symphonic music in celebration of INTEMPO's diverse students and community, this annual show is not to be missed! Young INTEMPO musicians will take center stage with members of the Norwalk Youth Symphony and guest artists Bomba Ashe: Roberto & Gloria Cepedam from La Familia Cepeda. 

KEYS Trio at Talmadge Hill Community Church, Darien

Sunday, May 15, 5:00 pm 

Kids Empowered by Your Support (KEYS) proudly presents the KEYS Trio in their first live performance since the pandemic. Featuring three of KEYS finest music faculty members, Jenny Ong, Corinne Metter, and Madeleine Corliss playing piano, violin, and cello. The concert is a fundraiser for KEYS, and proceeds will continue KEYS' mission to provide free music lessons and performance opportunities to under-resourced students in Bridgeport CT.
