Artwork by Margaret Cibulsky
July 11th –September 7th, 2022
Artists’ reception Monday July 25th from 5:30-7:00 pm
The Mayor’s Gallery of Stamford warmly welcomes Margaret Cibulsky with her first solo exhibition featuring original quilts as art intended to be hung on a wall. The emphasis is on design rather than functionality. The exhibition runs from July 11th through September 7th, 2022. There will be an artist’s reception on Monday July 25th from 5:30- 7:00 pm from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM which is open to the public.
Stamford based Margaret Cibulsky learned how to operate a sewing machine watching her mother make garments and practical items such as curtains. After losing her husband to cancer, Ms. Cibulsky’s first foray into quilting was joining a church group that made comfort quilts for seriously ill congregants. Her first original quilt was a tribute to her husband and the life they had made together. The fabrics came from her husband’s clothing and is a place holder for past memories and future hopes.
Margaret moved to Stamford in 2018, is a member of the Modern Quilt Guild, NYC Metro Modern Quilters and is Co-President of the Northern Star Quilters in Westchester.
