The Stamford Senior Center and Over 60 Club invites seniors and their caregivers to join them at the Over 60 Club on October 6th from 10 am - 1 pm for a morning of information and resources on financial relief for seniors during this time of significant inflation.
With inflation recently reaching a 40-year high, these two non-profit organizations are partnering to bring agencies from across the state to provide information on programs for seniors that can help with soaring costs. Participants include Southwestern CT Agency on Aging, Silver Source, Charter Oak Senior Housing, City of Stamford Social Services, Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, and many more.
“These are challenging times for seniors,” says Christina Crain, Executive Director of Stamford Senior Center. “Overall inflation in Connecticut has increased 7.9% in just the last year, and that makes both daily expenses and planning for the future difficult, especially when living on a fixed income.”
“This fair will introduce seniors to programs that may be able to help them weather rising costs, and guide them through each step of the process to get that help quickly,” says Betty McOsker, Director of the Over 60 Club.
