Norwalk Community College is coming to Stamford!
NCC’s Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division is now collaborating with Stamford Adult & Continuing Education to offer five popular non-credit courses and certificates at The Old Town Hall in the heart of downtown Stamford.
“We are excited to be working with the Stamford Adult Education program to provide NCC continuing education opportunities in Stamford,” said Kristina Testa-Buzzee, Ed.D., NCC Associate Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. “While we are starting small, we hope to explore further collaborations to meet the community and business workforce needs.”
Having a Stamford presence will make it easier for the many students who live or work in the Stamford region to further their education and enhance their marketable skills, said NCC President David L. Levinson, Ph.D.
The majority of NCC students actually come from Stamford (32.8%); followed by Norwalk (28.9%).
The Old Town Hall is conveniently located near the Stamford train station and bus stops.
NCC’s Stamford offerings include:
Homemaker Companion Certificate
A six-session certificate to prepare students for entry-level positions in the booming health care field. (Begins March 4)
Bookkeeping Practices
A10-session-course on the accounting concepts and practices that underlie all accounting systems, whether manual or software-based. (Begins March 4)
This two-session course teaches how to get a site up quickly, refine it with the right design, format pictures and quickly add content. (Begins March 20)
Microsoft Excel 2016
Learn how to use this valuable tool for organizing, analyzing and reporting complex data. This course meets for five sessions. (Begins April 15)
Official 8-Hour State of CT Security Officer Certification
This course is the required State of Connecticut Public Safety Security Officer training class. Once candidates have passed the exam and completed the course, they can submit the application to receive a Security Officer Identification Card from the Special Licensing and Firearms Unit of the Department of Public Safety. (Begins May 13)
