Stamford Reports 953 New COVID Cases this Past Week, Community Update Here =>

Stamford COVID Updates

Today — December 3 — Stamford has 6,662 confirmed cases. Last week — November 25 — Stamford had 5,709 confirmed cases and 310 probable cases. These numbers suggest Stamford has had 953 new cases in the past week, roughly 119 new cases per day on average. Please note the state's data now compiles confirmed cases with probable cases and last week's newsletter was released on Wednesday — one day early.

The City of Stamford has compiled a visualization of data up to November 30.

Stamford testing sites. Please note this section has be reorganized:

  • Community Health Center. Cove Island Park and Scalzi Park. Open every day, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.
  • Family Centers. 60 Palmer’s Hill Road. Open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.
  • Optimus Healthcare. 805 Atlantic Street. Open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.
  • DOCS Urgent Care. 2001 West Main Street. Open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Open Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Schedule an appointment online or call 203.298.4600.
  • Stamford Hospital. Operated by Stamford Health. Open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Schedule an appointment by calling 203.276.3300.
  • Tully Health Center. Operated by Stamford Health. Open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedule an appointment by calling 203.276.3300. Must have a doctor’s order faxed.
  • AFC Urgent Care. 3000 Summer Street. Open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.
  • CVS Health. 1928 W Main Street, 229 Hope Street and 969 High Ridge Road. Drive-thru testing. Schedule an appointment online.
  • Additional testing availability:
  • Sema4. Stamford High School Hillandale Avenue Parking Lot. Open every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Accessible Pharmacy offers in-home testing for blind, low vision, elderly, veteran, and disabled residents. Schedule an appointment online or call 215.799.9900.
  • Community Health Center Pop-Up Testing at Fire Headquarters (629 Main Street) every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for residents in the affordable housing units surrounding Fire HQ.

Please note: Community Health Centers testing site at 22 Fifth Street will relocate to Cove Island Park on December 4.

  • COVID-19 testing will no longer take place at the 22 Fifth Street location.
  • A new testing site operated by Family Centers opened at 60 Palmer’s Hill Road, open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.

Lamont: Stamford Nonprofit Funding and Learning Devices for Students

Governor Ned Lamont announced Connecticut is the first state in the nation to provide a learning device to every PK-12 student in need, achieving a major milestone in the fight to close the K-12 digital divide in Connecticut, particularly as many schools move toward remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Ned Lamont announced 154 nonprofit arts organizations in Connecticut will be receiving $9 million in grants this month under a program initiated by his administration to provide support to the state’s arts community amid the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Stamford organizations include:

  • Curtain Call, $81,300
  • INTEMPO, $63,600
  • Stamford Centers for the Arts, $50,000
  • Stamford Symphony, $185,600
  • Treetops Chamber Music Society, $8,100

Services

  • Starting on November 30th through December 14th the intersection of Weed Avenue and Route 1 will be reconstructed.
  • Access to Weed Avenue will be closed.
  • Local access to homes and businesses will be from the south end of Weed Avenue at Cove Road. Proper detour signs will be placed along the route ahead of time.
  • Updated information is available for the paving schedules:
  • Paving to start on West Hill Road and Drum Hill Lane in the next two weeks.

Schools

  • Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announced the Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) and Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) has named Stamford High School Teacher Susan Dougherty a 2020 Women of Innovation® in the category of Secondary Academic Innovation & Leadership.
