Stamford resident Stephen Michael Bruno, 50, passed away unexpectedly

Stephen Michael Bruno, 50, of Stamford, CT passed away February 22, 2018, unexpectedly in Chicago, IL while traveling. Stephen was born on May 3, 1967, in Greenwich, CT to Marjorie (Butler) Evaristo and James J. Bruno Sr.

He was a longtime employee of Transamerica, an alumnus of Trinity Catholic High School - class of 1985 - and attended the University of South Florida.
 
With a lifelong interest in cars, Steve enjoyed attending races and restoring and repairing cars. Being on several racing teams with close friends and traveling to car shows was a choice activity. Maintaining relationships with friends and family was the highlight of his life. Steve readily traveled at a moment’s notice to help a friend or accompany someone on a long road trip. He never missed an opportunity to be present to the many people he loved. There are no words to describe how much Stephen will be missed.
 
Stephen was a loyal family member who loved and is survived by his Mother, Marjorie. His family is grateful for the manner in which he cared for her. He is also survived by his two brothers Jim (Cindy) of Ridgefield, CT and Ed (Barbara) of Lone Tree, CO. Steve never missed an opportunity to spend time with his nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly. Nephews; Keith (Angela) Bruno and Chris (Mandy) Bruno. Nieces; Kate (Christiaan) Enthoven and Colleen (Thomas) Plummer and great nephews and nieces, John, Gerrit, Tessa, Owen and Camille. He was also “Uncle Stephen” to his friends’ children - including Megan, Dan, Bridget, Jimmy, Ethan, Liam and many others.
 
He was predeceased by his father, James J. Bruno Sr. 
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 110 North Street, Ridgefield. Friends will be received on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
