"We are delighted that these five very deserving young women have been nominated by their schools for this honor. Looking over their achievements, it's clear that Stamford's history of nurturing women leaders continues," stated Dr. Thomas Zoubek, President and Executive Director of the Center. "We have been celebrating the impact of women on the history of Stamford through our current exhibit, "Fabric of Stamford: Women, Costumes & Textiles 1860-1960", and the objects and dresses remind us of the impact women have had on our city."
"Our gala this year will be an exceptional occasion for celebrating the role women have played, and will play, here in Stamford", added Marshall Millsap, Chair of the History Center. "We are also delighted that a number of our local and state elected officials plan to attend. Mayor David Martin and City and Town Clerk Lyda Ruijter will be there, as well as Connecticut State Senators, Alexis Bergstein and Carlo Leone, and State Representative Matt Blumenthal."
