Stamford EMS held its annual volunteer appreciation dinner on January 23rd at Madonia’s restaurant in Stamford, CT to honor the service of their 32 volunteer emergency medical personnel. The group, which is comprised of residents from Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk, Wilton, New Canaan, Fairfield and Bridgeport, logged a total of 9,125 volunteer hours during 2019.
To honor their service, Volunteer Coordinator Captain Malcolm Dean, Jr. presented challenge coins to eleven volunteers who joined the team in 2019. New member challenge coins were presented to: Appoline Vincent, Kyle Capone, Eva Lapine, Jon Panzer, Regine Rossi, Barbara Hanson, Jen Panzer, Chiste Carrenard, Carole Fulton, Rianna Punturiero and Anatolli Perekhodko.
EMT Yesenia Rivera, who has been volunteering with Stamford EMS since 2017, received an achievement award, recognizing her service and dedication at the organization. Stamford EMS also provided Rivera with a scholarship to attend an EMT course.
“I would like to thank Stamford EMS and Captain Dean for believing in me,” said Rivera. “Volunteering is rewarding. I enjoy learning from new experiences in the EMS field, and meeting and helping people in the community.”
A Captain’s Service plaque was presented to EMTs Francine Manfredi and Ginger Warren to recognize their outstanding dedication and commitment to the Stamford EMS organization and our community. Both volunteers represent the organization in a knowledgeable and professional manner at numerous community events throughout the year.
“The hard work and dedication of our volunteers contributes greatly to the safety of our community,” said Captain Dean. “We are grateful for their service.”
