Stamford's The Works - Monday, August 17
- The City of Stamford is asking all residents with photos of the damage from Tropical Storm Isaias to send the photos to the City by uploading them to this Google Form or by visiting www.stamfordct.gov/stormdamage, which will redirect you to the Google Form.
- These photos will be used to assist Stamford and the State of Connecticut in its application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster relief funds.
- Photos will be accepted until Tuesday, August 18 at 9 a.m.

- Mayor David Martin announced Stamford’s Zoning Board has approved the “Sustainability Scorecard” — a grading given to new developments to measure their sustainability. This scorecard has now been codified into Stamford’s zoning laws. Stamford’s Sustainability Scorecard assigns new larger residential or commercial developments a letter grade for nine categories of sustainability.
- These categories include energy use, water management, building health, land use, open space, mobility, resiliency, urban design, and waste management.
- The Office of Public Safety, Health, and Welfare announced the successful implementation and first use of Carbyne — a new communications management system used to assist Public Safety officials respond to emergencies.
- Carbyne produced a video showing how the technology was first used in Stamford.
COVID-19 Updates
- Today — August 17 — Stamford has 3,407 confirmed cases and 75 probable cases. Last week — August 13 — Stamford had 3,388 confirmed cases and 76 probable cases.

- Beginning Thursday, August 20, this newsletter’s release schedule will switch from twice-weekly to weekly. The Works will continue to be released every Thursday.

- The City will host a pop-up tasting event on Wednesday, August 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Building One Community, 75 Selleck Street.
- The City will host two more mask giveaways this month. All giveaways will be at Rippowam Middle School, 381 High Ridge Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

State
- Governor Ned Lamont announced the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has been awarded a $6.7 million federal grant to modernize the CTtransit bus facility in Stamford by providing accommodations for battery electric buses, which will soon be used on the system.
