COVID-19 Updates

Today — August 20 — Stamford has 3,415 confirmed cases and 77 probable cases. Last week — August 13 — Stamford had 3,388 confirmed cases and 76 probable cases.

This is an increase of 27 cases in the past week (or an average of roughly 3 new cases per day).

  • DOCS Urgent Care. 2001 West Main Street. Open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Open Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Schedule an appointment online or call 203.298.4600.

Storm Debris

  • The City will host an additional storm debris drop-off and disposal event on Saturday, August 22 at Scofield Park (located at Rock Rimmon Road and Scofieldtown Road) from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Stamford residents/passenger vehicles only. No commercial trucks.
  • Residents can also dispose of storm debris for free at Stamford’s Transfer Station at 101 Harborview Avenue. The Transfer Station’s regular operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mask Giveaway

  • The City will host one more mask giveaway for this month.
  • Thursday, August 27 at Rippowam Middle School, 381 High Ridge Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

State

  • Governor Lamont announced as of Wednesday, more than one million COVID-19 PCR-based diagnostic tests have been recorded in Connecticut.
  • Attorney General William Tong announced Connecticut is joining a multistate coalition that will file a federal lawsuit challenging drastic operational changes at the U.S. Postal Service that threaten critical mail delivery ahead of the November election.
