Today — January 28 — Stamford has 11,638 confirmed cases. Last week — January 21 — Stamford had 11,208 confirmed cases. These numbers suggest Stamford has had 430 new cases in the past week, roughly 62 new cases per day on average. The City of Stamford has compiled a visualization of data up to January 26.

Vaccine rollout

Residents who want to sign up for a vaccination can do so through Stamford Health’s website here: http://stamfordhealth.org/covid19vaccine

If you require assistance by phone, please call Stamford Health’s assistance line at 203.276.7300, Monday through Friday, 9am to 4 pm. Please note this phone line is receiving a high volume of calls. It is best for residents to register through Stamford Health’s website.

If you signed up through the City’s Vaccination Signup Google Form your information has been sent to Stamford Health and you will be contacted by Stamford Health soon.

As of today, the State of Connecticut is in Phase 1b of its vaccination rollout. This phase includes:

  • Healthcare personnel,
  • Long-term care facility residents,
  • Medical first responders,
  • Individuals 75 and older,
  • Residents and staff of select congregate settings.

  • Sema4. Located in Stamford High School’s Hillandale Avenue parking lot every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Community Health Center. Cove Island Park and Scalzi Park. Open every day, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.
  • Family Centers. 60 Palmer’s Hill Road. Open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pre-register online or walk in with no appointment.
  • Optimus Healthcare. 805 Atlantic Street. Open Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.

  • AFC Urgent Care. 3000 Summer Street. Open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Open Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Testing is first come, first serve.
  • CIC Health. 845 Canal Street. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are recommended, but some walk-ins are accepted. Schedule an appointment online.
  • CVS Health. 1928 W Main Street, 229 Hope Street and 969 High Ridge Road. Drive-thru testing. Schedule an appointment online.

  • Accessible Pharmacy offers in-home testing for blind, low vision, elderly, veteran, and disabled residents. Schedule an appointment online or call 215.799.9900.
  • Community Health Center Pop-Up Testing at Fire Headquarters (629 Main Street) every Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

New Testing Site

A new testing site has opened at 845 Canal Street. This testing site takes appointments or walk-ins and can test up to 500 people a day — results back within 24 - 36 hours.

Optimus Healthcare will move their testing site from UConn Stamford to 805 Atlantic Street on January 29.

Employers in Stamford can now schedule vaccine appointments for themselves and their staff.

  • The State of Connecticut has provided a resource with more information on how to schedule an appointment through the online Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS).
  • VAMS will verify your registration and then follow up with important scheduling information
  • Governor Ned Lamont announced Connecticut public health officials have confirmed that the COVID-19 variant B.1.1.7, commonly known as the UK variant, has been detected in four additional individuals in the state who recently tested positive for COVID-19.
  • This brings the total number of confirmed cases of the UK variant in Connecticut to eight. The eight individuals, who live in New Haven (2), Oxford (3), and West Haven (3), range in age from 15 to 50.
  • Governor Ned Lamont announced he has signed a declaration extending Connecticut’s state of emergency in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to April 20, 2021. The extension applies to both the civil preparedness emergency and the public health emergency.
  • Governor Ned Lamont announced he plans to introduce legislation during the 2021 regular session of the Connecticut General Assembly with the goal of making broadband internet more accessible to Connecticut residents, particularly those in underserved households.
  • Governor Ned Lamont announced he is directing the Connecticut Department of Public Health to proceed through the remaining groups in Phase 1b with a tiered approach based on risk of adverse health outcomes from the virus. The tiered approach to Phase 1b will proceed as follows:
  • Scheduling now: Individuals over the age of 75
  • Scheduling next (likely early February): Individuals between the ages of 65 and 74
  • Scheduling soon (likely late February or early March): Frontline essential workers and individuals with underlying medical conditions who have an increased risk for severe illness
