Case Numbers

  • Today — March 25— Stamford has 14,081 confirmed cases. Last week — March 18 — Stamford had 13,709 confirmed cases. These numbers suggest Stamford has had 372 new cases in the past week, roughly 53 new cases per day on average. The City of Stamford has compiled a visualization of data up to March 23.

Vaccine Rollout

  • The State of Connecticut is using an age-based vaccination rollout.
  • The full schedule is available here, currently eligible residents include:
  • Healthcare personnel,
  • Long-term care facility residents,
  • Medical first responders,
  • Individuals 45 and older
  • Residents and staff of select congregate settings.
  • On March 15, Governor Lamont announced a tentative accelerated schedule for future eligibility:
  • April 5 (tentative): Scheduling opens to all individuals age 16 to 44.

  • Did you schedule at Stamford Health? Stamford Health has a policy of calling every resident who has their appointment canceled by weather. If you have not been called, please call their phone assist line at 203.276.7300.
  • Did you schedule at a site other than Stamford Health? Please call 877.918.2224 (or "211" if you are a Connecticut resident) to reschedule.

  • CIC Health. 845 Canal Street. Open Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 6:45 pm. Open Fridays from 8 am to 7:45 pm. Open Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Appointments are recommended, but some walk-ins are accepted. Schedule an appointment online. Results within 24-36 hours.
  • Sema4. Located in Stamford High School's Hillandale Avenue Parking lot every Wednesday from 3 pm to 7 pm. Saturday to Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm.
  • Community Health Center. Cove Island Park and Scalzi Park. Open every day, 8:30 am to 4 pm. Testing is first come, first serve.

Community

  • Governor Lamont announced he has scheduled Tuesday, April 27 as the date to hold a special election to fill a vacancy for state representative in the 145th Assembly District of the Connecticut House of Representatives — which represents portions of Stamford.
  • The seat became vacant on March 8 following the resignation of Patricia Billie Miller after she was elected to serve in the 27th State Senate District.

Federal

  • The U.S. Federal Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Services (IRS) announced the federal income tax filing due date for the 2020 tax year will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021 to May 17, 2021. The IRS will be providing formal guidance in the coming days.

  • StrEATeries in Stamford Downtown will return on April 1. StrEATeries transforms parking spaces and streets into expanded space for walking and sitting/eating while maintaining social distancing and adhering to the state and local public health protocols.
