Tonight, we are proud to introduce the Stamford Police Association Soccer Team, as 2022, indoor soccer league champions.
This COED, SPA team had an amazing start, but after a series of injuries and order backs, the team was tired, and slumped mid season.
In June, we added all-state High School goalie, Tom “The Vacuum” Landry, to the line up, after returning from two major surgeries. Tonight, he registered his first shutout.
They limped into the playoffs, with a record of 7 wins, 4 losses, and 1 tie. They persevered as they overcame undercover professional players, unfavorable refs, and bad whistles to peak at the right time.
Tonight they beat “AMATEUR HOUR” and posted a convincing 3-0 win.
Hot play by strikers, Javve “CC” Canales, Kevin “The Dentist” Louchard, and Emily “Not Covid Compromised” Guerra, all scored net.
However, it was the 20-shot on goal onslaught, that just wore out “The Amateurs”, capturing the League trophy.
Everyone on this team is an “All-Star” and every player contributed to the success of the team. It’s refreshing to see such a diverse group of players, come together, and win as a team
