Roasted Sets Up Shop in Stamford

New Fast Casual Restaurant & Bar Opens in Downtown Stamford - Roasted!

November 6, 2018, Stamford, CT: Chef Bill and Kristin Hall introduced Roasted to downtown Stamford this past winter. Riding on the success of the duo’s popular White Plains eatery, Melt Sandwich Shop, Roasted Food Co. began as a serious sandwich place and quickly morphed into a full-fledged fast-casual restaurant and bar, focusing on that same from-scratch philosophy, now with even more delicious menu items to choose from.

Roasted starts with its namesake, a selection of meats and veggies that are roasted, cured, brined, smoked, or grilled in-house. These flavorful roasts are then served in a variety of ways, as they become the center of attention in a hearty build-it-yourself meal. They can be matched with any one of their 3 different house-made breads, atop numerous fresh salad combinations, accompanied by fluffy quinoa and vegetables, served over creamy mac-n-cheese, or piled up on top of a bed of crispy french fries.  The build-it-yourself concept doesn’t stop there! After deciding on how the roasted meat or veg will be served, a crafted topping combination is chosen to round out the meal. Topping combos include anything from their fresh made corn and avocado salsa, to gooey cheeses, house-made sauces, and tons of fresh veggies.  Prepared daily are freshly baked bread of the white or wheat wedge roll or flatbread variety, as well as all dressings, sauces, vegetables, and side dishes such as a quinoa salad, cole slaw, or a fresh pasta salad.

Some of our favorite meal combinations include; The Goat with slow roasted tomatoes, basil pesto, creamy goat cheese and provolone matched up with their roasted herbed pork loin over quinoa or mac n’ cheese; The Philly with sliced aged beef top round, cheddar cheese sauce, and sautéed onions on a wedge; The Reuben with black pepper pastrami, Swiss cheese, pickles, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing on a mound of french fries; The Greek with crisp romaine, cool tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes, and marinated grilled chicken breast; and The Southwestern quinoa bowl filled with corn and avocado salsa, jalapenos, chipotle, pepper jack, bacon, and pulled BBQ. Flavorful and seasonal, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan menu items are also available. Try The Mango of fresh mangos, jalapenos, red onions, cilantro, and mojo citrus vinaigrette with BBQ tofu, atop crispy greens or on a gluten-free roll.

A graduate of The Florida Culinary Institute, Bill honed his culinary skills while in the kitchens of Movenpick Hotels in Switzerland and cruising around the world with Winstar Cruiseline before landing in Mystic, Connecticut, the city that would ultimately catapult this young chef’s forward trajectory for years to come, earning himself a name as the Executive Chef and Owner of Bravo Bravo, and soon after, Azu. It was in Mystic where this talented chef met his wife Kristin. Armed with a Master's Degree in Neuropsychology and a whole lotta creativity and awe in Bill’s ability as a chef, Kristin forwent the corporate route and plunged herself into the food world with Bill as the duo headed south in 2009 to open their first joint venture, Melt Sandwich Shop.

Today, Roasted enjoys its downtown location, amid the many shops, businesses, theaters, and restaurant neighbors that contribute to the pulse of the neighborhood. Patrons can enjoy beer, wine, and cocktails in Roasted Food Co.’s charming 40-seat restaurant or at an outdoor table.  Roasted Food Co.’s robust catering arm features scrumptious sandwich platters, side dishes, and salad bowls, as well as an over-the-top sandwich bar set-up – a huge crowd pleaser!
