Baldanza New Canaan Closes to Focus on Darien

When Baldanza Café launched in New Canaan in 2013, it quickly built up an impressive reputation amongst Fairfield and New York residents due to the high quality, organic food it produces. Husband and wife team Sandy and Angela Baldanza are passionate about quality and source from local farms and purveyors whenever possible. Angela’s culinary skills were recognized when she won Food Network’s Cook’s V’s Cons. Together, they balance a varied seasonal menu with good service and consistently great food. In 2018 their successes led them to open a second location in Darien.

Recently Sandy, Angela and son Alex took the difficult decision to close their New Canaan location to focus on Bistro Baldanza, Darien. Fear not, the family is personally delivering food to New Canaan residents during the Coronavirus Pandemic. They want to ensure their regulars get their favorite, healthy dishes and negotiations are already underway for Baldanza Café to re-open in a new downtown location this summer.

Sandy Baldanza says: “We opened our second restaurant in Darien, offering a more intimate, bistro-style setting. In an effort to find ways to help others during this COVID-19 crisis we are concentrating on providing prepared lunch and dinners through Corbin Cares, who with the support of our community, will work with The Darien Foundation, The Community Fund of Darien, The Darien Lions Club, Food Rescue US to get healthy, ready-to-eat meals delivered to those in our community who are food insecure and to our hospital & healthcare workers during this battle with COVID-19. We want to help however we can, that includes personally delivering to Fairfield locations.”

Bistro BALDANZA is offering curbside pickup and delivery to New Canaan, Norwalk, Darien and Stamford. Angela Baldanza says: “We really care for our communities and want to be as flexible as possible over meal choices. Wednesday is Fresh Pasta Night, so we are offering regular or gluten free. We also include a FREE dessert. Everyone has been impacted by this in some way or another, so we all have to do our bit to help. You can order fresh family meals and 1/2 priced bottles of wine. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.”

The Baldanza family will continue to create all natural, delicious meals for the discerning diner - as they have done for the past eight years. They look forward to an exciting, new chapter in their lives and to relaunching in New Canaan later this year. You can donate to Corbin Cares here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/corbin-cares-2
