Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Egoscue!

Three questions with Greg Heinemann, Clinical Director at Egoscue in Stamford and Purchase, NY.

What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?

I began working for the parent company (Egoscue, Inc) in 2003 right out of college. Through an interesting set of circumstances, I was able to purchase my 1st franchise in 2007 and then opened a second franchise in Midtown Manhattan in 2019. I wanted to opportunity to own a franchise after falling in love with the product/ service we offer and knowing that all people can and should have the chance to benefit from what we know and do.

Are you offering any new products or ways for customers to purchase your products or services?

We are completely a service-based industry that offers one on one individualized and personalized therapy with the sole purpose of helping our clients remove pain, regain function and return to the activities they love to do as well as gain a skill they can use to take care of themselves forever. We use these corrective e-cises we teach to our clients, to help them restore balance to their body. This is also known as giving them better posture. What we know is what the power of posture gives to these people. Not only initially with pain relief but a plan of care for them to create a strong physical foundation so they can achieve all of their life, family and financial goals!

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines

We have been offering 1-on-1 therapy over Zoom, FaceTime, Skype for years but to implement it full time has made it possible to not only help clients locally but expand our reach across the globe! We have had to get great at communicating and creating connection and trust verbally and auditorial which has been a challenge but one that will serve us well going forward.
