Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT TLC Plumbing!

Four questions with Thomas Considine, owner of TLC Plumbing.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business because I want to be able to provide better service to customers. I wasn't happy where I was working or how the business was being run. I thought I could do it better and make a living doing it as well. I’ve owned my business for nearly 20 years and have been in the plumbing profession for over 35 years.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Before COVID, I would say my best-selling product was water heaters. Since COVID, I have found that with people being home more they want to fix up their space. I have been doing bathroom makeovers. I also do kitchen renovations.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I do support local businesses. I use Torrco as well as Plimpton & Hills for my suppliers.
