Stamford Land Conservation Trust Looks To Buy Altschul Properties

Stamford Land Conservation Trust has been offered to purchase 64 acres from the Altschul family for approximately $3M.

The Land Trust board has received significant commitments toward the $3M purchase price but still needs $550K to close the gap, which would be $1M higher if not for the generosity of the owners, who are selling below market value.

The 65 acres, located on Den and Riverbank Road, are adjacent to the 164-acre Helen Altschul preserve — the Land Trust’s crown jewel and largest preserve. Acquisition of the 65 acres would create a combined open space domain of 245 acres — an important and most worthy achievement for the surrounding neighborhoods, as well as for the City of Stamford and our citizens.

The Land Trust is continuing to work with donors to raise the necessary additional funds.

The entire Stamford community would have access to open space and trails - it's really an investment in the community now and for the future.

To donate or to ask questions about the properties, email info@stamfordland.com or visit stamfordland.org.

For donations, be sure to specify that it's for the Altschul properties. In the event the monetary target is not reached, SLCT will return donations.
