You're IT Grassroots Impact Coaching for Creators!

Four questions with Emily Derr, founder of Grassroots Impact Coaching for Creators.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business in 2020 after working freelance for a Fairfield County-based artist. I realized that an artists’ needs transcended beyond social media assistance, public relations work, and serving as an assistant at art shows. My clients needed a confidante and coach who could help them work through creative resistance, energy blocks, limiting beliefs, etc.

When the pandemic hit, I was speaking with musicians artists, and other creative businesses around the world to design an impactful business and mindset program to meet their needs. All my interviewees wanted to be taken seriously as a professional and do what they do best create and sell more art.

What is your best-selling product/service?

My best-selling product is my 6 and 12-month one-on-one private client coaching packages.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

To support my business, I partner with Stamford History Center where I serve on the board, to have a venue to showcase works for my clients. For a mid-day pick me up between calls or mid-morning energy, I love the fresh protein shakes and juices from Juice Kings in Stamford.

For promoting my events and upcoming workshops, I am a member of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County and frequently use their community calendar.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

My services are primarily virtual and my work with my private clients allows them to form transformational collaborations with the business community. My work impacts local artists, galleries, and museums in addition to having the potential to help creative businesses all over the world!
