Three questions with Richard and Catalina Fandiño, founders of Cool Picnics, Events, and Rentals.
Times have changed a lot lately. That is why our main focus is to put a spin on those beloved gatherings we all miss. We give our clients the option to choose between old and new ways to celebrate, always following guidelines and keeping safety as our top priority.
Why did you start your business?
2020 was an abnormal year because of Covid, which led us to change our normal lives. We had been thinking of getting into the event planning business for a while but because of Covid, we couldn't start. People put a halt to parties, events, and gatherings and we knew it was not the right time to start our business. People couldn't come out of their homes, and if they did, they would only go to open spaces nearby. It was the same for us. That's how we started to find out about all the amazing parks Connecticut has to offer.
Sadly not many people use them or even know about them.
We realized that if times were different now, we had to be different as well. That's how our luxury "Cool Picnics and Events" business was born - to give people the ability to celebrate and gather in small groups while helping them find out about all the parks Connecticut has to offer.
What is your best-selling product/service?
Our bestseller is the "Luxury" Picnics and Main Table Decor. We are very focused on giving the best service to each client.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
Cool Picnics and Events was born out of a need to adapt and it is constantly adapting. This has allowed us to grow and we will continue growing by adapting to the consumer's needs. Right now we offer luxury picnics, event decorations, and party rentals for any occasion. We keep working to grow.
We are passionate about what we do because we love seeing our clients happy.
