Shop small, do big things for your community

You're IT Re-Bath Fairfield County!

Three questions with Gregory Montesano, owner of Re-Bath Fairfield County.

Why did you start your business?

After spending nearly 15 years in NYC working in real estate and running a major contracting business, I wanted to have more time with my family and own a business that added value to homeowners in the community that I call home. I’ve always loved being involved in service-based businesses, especially the trades. I started Re-Bath Fairfield County because I saw how frustrating, time-consuming, and fragmented a remodeling experience can be for people.

Re-Bath does a great job of bringing the design process into your home and follows it up with a proven install process that allows us to complete a full bathroom remodel in a matter of days - not weeks, or months. We’ve all heard horror stories of remodeling projects gone bad, people’s homes turning into construction sites for months with little progress, and the challenges associated with the design process. I felt like we had a real opportunity to make an impact here in the community.

What is your best-selling product/service?

We’ve had a tremendous amount of interest in our tub to shower conversions, along with aging and accessibility options. A lot of our customers are choosing to stay in their homes longer, though they want to make it more functional and aesthetically pleasing. We also have customers that are caring for loved ones that are looking to create a safer environment for them. Maybe there’s a parent that is getting older and doesn’t have the mobility they used to.

Maybe someone experienced a fall and doesn’t want to have the fear of that happening again. Or, perhaps the kids have finally left the house and that couple finally gets to create the shower spa they’ve always dreamed of. Removing an old tub and replacing it with a walk-in shower is a great place to begin a bathroom remodel. We can add grab bars, handheld showers, shower seats, glass shower doors, and a wide array of accessories to create a safe, relaxing shower experience. Most of the materials that we utilize are easy to clean and have lifetime warranties - which is peace of mind when investing in your home.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business and can you name them?

We use Lima Tile for many of our customers that are looking for beautiful tiles or just need some inspiration into the possibilities. They have a wonderful selection and a very knowledgeable staff with a great eye for design. AlphaGraphics handles a lot of our printing needs and marketing material. Humbled Coffeehouse is always a close retreat for when we need to fuel up or want to create some thinking time.

Plimpton & Hills has a great trade counter for plumbing parts and supplies. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the importance of starting every day with a blood-pumping 6 am workout at Carozza Fitness.

Have you “reimagined” your small business?

Every day, we are looking to continuously improve our business - whether it be making it easier for our customers to create that vision for their dream bathroom or coming up with ways for our installation teams to be more efficient. Technology is certainly a help, but for us, it’s about providing an effortless remodeling experience for our customers and serving them at the highest level. This comes down to human interactions, trust, and great communication.

Our employees play a critical role in that and they are the cornerstone of this business. In addition, we also stay focused on new and innovative products and materials that we can add to our business offerings.
