Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT The CBD Curators!

Three questions with Rob MacArthur, founder of The CBD Curators.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business because CBD enabled me to quit opiates for my chronic pain of 30 years, get off of anti-depressants, and helped stop symptoms of PTSD. (You can read Rob's mission here).

What is your best-selling product/service?

The best-selling product is my 50-milligram pills. They are great for anxiety, sleep, and pain.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Entrepreneurship is a fascinating phenomenon. You go into it with a plan you are sure will work only to find out that it won’t. That means the clock is working against you. You have only so much money to morph your business model from what you thought would work into something that works better.

You may go through that several times to find the right mix of products and services for which there is a demand. That’s entrepreneurship—find a demand and fill it. That’s what I am good at. My store looks nothing like it did when I started on March 1st of 2020. Before CBD, I spent 25 years in the investment business doing investigative research for hedge funds.
