You're IT Muscle Man Movers!

Four questions with Mike Hennessey, founder of Muscle Man Movers.

Why did you start your business?

I am Mike Hennessey, the sole owner of Muscle Man Movers, Inc. for the past 34 years. I began my business servicing the greater Fairfield area where I saw an opportunity for growth in Stamford and neighboring towns, where people move often.

Muscle Man Movers is all about taking the stress out of moving so you can stay focused on the excitement of settling into a new home. We have been making moves easy for our community over the past several decades and our amazing customers have given us glowing reviews in return. We have maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and we intend to keep providing A+ work for our customers into the future.

What is your best-selling product/service?

We cater to any size moving job to offer the best services. We take pride in personalizing all the customer’s moving needs to guarantee satisfaction from providing free estimates and assessing the property to offering packing services or purchases of moving materials. My crew provides outstanding service to take the stress out of moving. Three years ago, I opened Muscle Man Storage which is a brand-new climate control storage facility to store your belongings short or long-term with a company you can trust.

My oldest son joined the team after he graduated college and he is certified as a “Professional Organizer” to help customers say goodbye to belongings that can be difficult and help them sift through items to keep or throw away. Muscle Man Movers offers a flat fee pricing structure. The price you are quoted is the price you will pay, with no hidden fees!

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

There are several local businesses that I rely on and have wonderful relationships with. West High Service has been my gas station for several years (a staple here in Stamford).

My crew frequently stops at delis daily and they like Summer Street Kitchen and Corbo’s Southside Deli (to name a few). I have developed a long-term relationship with realtors to support their businesses.

Thank you to Elayne Jassey, Geri Gezinski, and Melanie Healey. When people need a dumpster to clean out their homes, I can always rely on AAA Advantage Carting and Demolition.

Being out in the community daily allows me to support local businesses to keep the local economy going!

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Being in business for over thirty years, I constantly reinvent my business in some way. The addition of the storage business has been a one-stop shop approach for customers to hire me to move and store items in one easy step. Being able to pivot and keep services offered affordable and consistent is important to long-term customers that use me multiple times. I am grateful to be able to offer a proven business model that has worked in the community.
