The Stamford Mayor’s Gallery presents “The Art of Transformation”: by Alicia C. Cobb at The Mayor’s Gallery of Stamford. The exhibition runs from July 6th thru September 5th, 2023. Alicia C. Cobb is a Stamford born award-winning visual artist, body painter, keynote speaker and teaching artist. Her biggest inspirations are connection, transformation, emotion, nature, and the human body. Her original art works can be found on many surfaces including but not limited to, canvas, walls, and people.
The artist’s reception is scheduled for July 14th, from 5:30-7:30 PM where the public is invited to meet the artist.
“I believe that everything we touch, and experience is a form of art. Being an artist, for me, is the ability to emulate and honor life, nature, culture, humanity, struggle, and love in ways it might not otherwise be seen. Painting the human body is an art that is provocative, healing, and intriguing because the body brings art to life. I like to challenge the status quo. I am fascinated by the process of transformation because it is one that all living beings are required to go through. The art of human transformation is timeless.” Alicia C. Cobb
Alicia is certified in therapeutic arts and currently works out of her studio space in Bridgeport where she facilitates virtual workshops, hosts virtual, social paint events as well as private lessons, and commissions. She enjoys giving back and participates in community events and organizations frequently. She acts as a mentor to many young aspiring artists and is a teaching artist specializing in social emotional learning through visual art throughout Connecticut & internationally.
