Stamford Police report that they have recently been contacted by concerned citizens reporting an increase in utility scams, particularly persons pretending to be from Eversource.
If you receive a call from 1-800-387-1880 purporting to be from Eversource, please note that this is a scam and not Eversource. Also, note that said scammers often employ VOIP and spoof numbers and that the calls can appear to be coming from many other numbers, police say.
