Stratford Dog Park Gains Momentum After Council Vote

The Stratford Dog Park has hit the ground running again with several events and fundraising campaigns since the Town Council and Mayor Harkins conditionally approved a location for the young nonprofit.

The Stratford Dog Park is in the running to win a $100,000 donation with the Bark for Your Park Campaign organized by Pet Safe.  The contest is a competition for dog parks throughout the country to see which parks earn the most votes through online and social media campaigns. To vote, supporters can register and vote one of two ways: through the Bark of Your Park wesbiste or their Facebook page.  Voters can cast one ballot a day on each site, totaling two votes a day through June 7th.

The Bark for Your Park contest site can be found at the following URL:   www.petsafe.net/barkforyourpark
Or through their Facebook page:  www.facebook.com/petsafebrand.

$100,000 in secured funds will preserve the Stratford Dog Park for years to come.  As of April, the Stratford Dog Park raised over $17,000 through private donations and grants, which is considered economically viable for dog park operations.  This also alleviates any potential tax payer funds from being utilized on the project, keeping the park to be more likely a revenue generator for the Town of Stratford, as well as improving quality of life for dogs and residents alike.
