Sterling House Community Center and Stratford Library Hosts Leading to Reading Information Session

Due to an overwhelming response to Sterling House's Pre K Programs and Stratford Library's Leading to Reading programs, the two organizations invite Stratford parents to join us as we host a Leading to Reading information session here at Sterling House Community Center. This is open to all Stratford parents and guardians with library cards. Non Stratford residents are also invited if they provide their town or city's library card.

The Stratford Library has a Leading to Reading Kits program to assist families and child care providers with encouraging their children in literacy learning. Each kit includes theme related songs, rhymes, and a list of activities that will expand on the learning of the story, which makes reading and literacy activities more engaging and thought provoking at an early and developmental age. This integration of signs, rhymes, and activities into a Pre-K literacy program often gives students a significant advantage as they enter the early years of elementary school and provides for greater academic and social growth.

Please RSVP to 203-378-2606 x0, or on Facebook: Sterling House Preschool. We need a head count to be sure we have enough materials for everyone.  Sterling House's Pre-K program is accredited with the National Association of Educating Young Children or NAEYC, and more about the NAEYC suggested best educational practices can be found at http://www.naeyc.org
