Stratford's 375th Anniversary Celebration is well underway with the commencement of the ceremony having started last Sunday at the William Perry House on West Broad Street. Mayor John Harkins, Councilmembers Paul Hoydick and Stephanie Philips and State Representative Laura Hoydick joined volunteers and Board Members of the William Perry House in a ribbon cutting ceremony Sunday afternoon. This also marks the 10 year anniversary of the creation of the nonprofit organization that revitalized the Perry House. A new edition to the historic building was recently opened to the public.
Parade Grand Marshal Todd Lovell was also named at the ceremony. The 375th Celebration will conclude with a September 20th parade marshaled by Lovell. The Lovells own and manage the family owned Lovell Hardware in town and epitomize the character of Stratford's small businesses by being active in many charities in town. Food and refreshments were provided Dunkin Donuts (Barnum Ave Cutoff), Icing on the Cake and Del Prete Bakery. This event also kicked off Stratford's first Restaurant Week.
