September 22nd, 2018, marks the one year anniversary of Hurricane Maria. The storm wrought havoc in the caribbean and decimated the island of Puerto Rico. The much disputed death toll of 3,000 continues to spur controversy and the remnants of destruction remain.
Many relief groups both domestic and foreign rose to the occasion and continue to operate in disaster area. The AFYA Foundation is a Yonkers group that has consistently worked to gather medical supplies and other essentials for areas in need. https://afyafoundation.org/
