Downtown Yonkers Art Gallery Opens

There's a new gallery in town and it is big and beautiful. The Warburton Galerie opened on November 10, 2018 with a packed house.

Located at 16 Warburton Ave. in downtown Yonkers, the gallery is committed to presenting museum quality work.

The opening exhibit  highlighted the work of thirty five contemporary artists including Tim Okamura, a Canadian painter whose work investigates identity, the urban environment, metaphor, and cultural iconography.

American street artist, Shepard Fairy was also represented. He is known for his Hope (2008) campaign logo which portrays a portrait of then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in red, white, and blue.

The gallery will sponsor arts programming via collaborations with guest curators, art advisors and notable creative organizations. The artwork for the Inaugural Exhibition was on loan via partnership with Amelchenko Art Advisory, Aced Gallery (Asbury Park, NJ) and individual artists
