Contrary to a previous SW Yonkers Hamlethub article and insider info, southern border migrants have arrived at the Ramada Inn located in Yonkers, NY as of late Monday evening, on 5/15/2023.

Latimer also stated that the asylum seekers were traveling legally, having submitted themselves to homeland security review when they crossed the border, illegally. He also stated that they had not been vetted but would be upon arrival at their final destination.
Yonkers City Councilman, Anthony Merante has been vigorous in his condemnation of the process. "We have not been informed of who is coming here. We have been left out of the process." Merante, a Republican candidate for Mayor of the City of Yonkers, is concerned for his constituents who reside in the district where the Ramada Inn is located.
It would appear that the City of New York has had little interaction with Yonkers officials in the process. Negotiations for rooms and staff took place with the hotel itself as opposed to a coordinated effort between Yonkers government officials and the City of New York. This has led to much confusion and dis information. Four hours prior to the migrants arriving at the Ramada Inn, both Yonkers government officials and the Westchester County Executive stated that the migrant transfer plan had been scuttled. leaving many in the dark to speculate on the outcome.
It is unknown at this time if more bus loads will be arriving at that location.
