Reliance Merchant Services, Inc., a credit and debit card processing company located on Grove Street in Ridgefield, is proud to announce their sponsorship of the “Get Real” series, an effort to support the anti-bullying movement that has swept the nation. The Reliance Merchant Services “Get Real” Series for Families and Teens begins its five-part sequence at The Ridgefield Playhouse (80 East Ridge in Ridgefield) on Thursday, Oct. 18.
Deciding to sponsor Ridgefield’s anti-bullying series was an easy decision for business owner, Mary Kate Gobleck, President and Founder of Reliance Merchant Services. Gobleck, a Ridgefield mother of two young children, is a strong advocate of the “shop local movement” and has strong community ties. Sponsoring this series shows her devotion to shaping the minds of the nation against bullying and the way it is handled in and out of the classroom, one small town at a time.
“When we sat down with the Playhouse team to discuss our 2012 sponsorship initiative, I asked if there were opportunities in their Family and Children Series. Allison Stockel immediately mentioned the ‘Get Real’ series, even though the project was only an idea at that point,” said Gobleck. “There are so many wonderful programs in Ridgefield; however this series resonated with me as a mother of two young children. I am thrilled that Reliance gets to be a part of this message, one that I feel very strongly about.”
Reliance Merchant Services provides processing for businesses throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties. Reliance also services nonprofit organizations and one-time events such as PTA and team fundraisers as well as annual appeals.
To kick-off October’s Anti-Bullying month, the series begins on Oct. 18 with age-appropriate programs for students in “Bullying Exposed.” The last program is in May 2013 with an informational comedy show that engages teenagers while addressing the pressure to connect with peers socially, to fit in, and to be cool.
Reliance Merchant Services supports the education of anti-bullying and urges families to attend the age-appropriate seminars at the Ridgefield Playhouse.
