Come on a Story Walk with Aspetuck Land Trust & Westport Public Library on September 24

Come on a “Story Walk” with Aspetuck Land Trust and Westport Public Library at Aspetuck Land Trust’s Leonard Schine Preserve, Westport, on September 24 from 11am – 2pm

On September 24, between 11am and 2pm, come experience StoryWalk®, an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to read a story and to take a walk at the same time. This self-guided walk will take place at the Aspetuck Land Trust’s Leonard Schine Preserve in Westport, located at 1 Glendinning Place (enter from Weston Road and park roadside).  Take a hike with your child along the trails and enjoy the Natural Playground (voted one of the Top 50 Playgrounds in the U.S.) as you walk and discover each page in the story, “Bird, Butterfly, Eel” written by local Easton artist and writer James Prosek.  Special guest Lynne Perrigo, the Children’s Librarian at the Westport Library will be there to inspire your child along the way.

This is a short walk (less than one-third of a mile) and is appropriate for all ages.

This StoryWalk® is cosponsored by Aspetuck Land Trust and the Westport Public Library. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration the Kellogg Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
