Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Psych Fitness!
Four questions with Dariush Fathi, founder of Psych Fitness.
Why did you start your business?
I have worked as a psychologist in the community for over 6 years. I started my business to help local professionals, teens, and college students build their psychological fitness and get their mental health on track. I also always wanted to create a blog to offer free advice to people in our community.
What is your best-selling product/service?
My two best-selling services are couples therapy and individual therapy.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
I shop local where ever possible. A new business I refer to often is Joshua Valinsky, APRN. He has a new psychiatry practice in Westport that you can check out here.
My office is 100% virtual and I have imagined getting a brick-and-mortar office one day. It’s a trade-off, though. Offering virtual therapy is very convenient, and most of my clients prefer it. It saves time driving and is just as effective as in-person therapy. Staying virtual also helps me keep the costs of my services low for my clients.
