Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

Three questions with Alyssa and Nikki, founders of Bloom Beauty Bar.
Why did you start your business?
Nikki and I (Alyssa) started Bloom in June 2019. We originally started in two small studios, and then we grew into a storefront space in Westport on Feb 22, 2022.
What is your best-selling product/service?
At Bloom, we mainly focus on color and extension services. Our stylists have taken advanced education focused on color, and hair extensions, though we offer many other services as well. We’re proud to say that we also have in-house educators that can share their craft with our stylists and other stylists/salons that are interested.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
We love our locals! Here is a list of locals we love and have utilized ourselves (We have a little station that also promotes them in our salon as well):
