The United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut (UWCWC) has announced the launch of its new initiative, Women United, a program dedicated to empowering women and families through philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteerism. Women United aims to create a network of community-minded individuals committed to advancing the health, education, and financial stability of women, children, and families in the region. It serves as a platform for leaders to connect, learn, and collaborate while making a tangible difference in their communities.
The Women United launch event will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the library located at 20 Jesup Road, Westport, CT.
Sheri West, former Fortune 500 executive, founder and CEO of LiveGirl, and author of Confidence Unleashed: 10 Kickass Strategies to Grow as a Leader, will deliver the keynote address. A panel discussion featuring Kate Hampford Donahue, CEO of Hampford Research; Carmen Hughes, Director of DEI for the City of Stamford; and Isabel Almeida, President and CEO of United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut, will follow.
The evening begins with registration at 5:15 PM, followed by networking with light bites and a cash bar. The program will include a welcome introduction and keynote address, panel discussion, and closing remarks, concluding with a book signing by Sheri West.
