Bridgeport Rescue Mission Announces New CEO

Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Board of Directors has appointed Frank Williams to be Chief Executive Officer, effective October 25, 2019.

After considering several qualified applicants recommended by a national executive search firm, the Board made a unanimous decision to offer the position to Frank. Williams has been serving as CFO since last summer, and was given the addition responsibility of Acting COO in April when the Board announced Wilcox will retire at the end of October.

“Frank is an exceptional leader,” says Executive Director, Terry Wilcox. “He models his devotion to God and the Mission every day, and has won the admiration and respect of our entire staff because he pursues excellence with grace, wisdom, and integrity.” Williams earned a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration from Washington and Lee University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School. He has worked as a Public Finance Attorney, CFO at the Bowery Mission in New York City, and numerous roles with World Vision International in Africa, Haiti, and the U.S.

Bridgeport Rescue Mission is preparing now to dramatically expand services through its new Community Care Center, beginning in 2020. “Frank Williams is the perfect choice to command this great ship,” says Chairman of the Board, Paul Hiller, “because he has already been trimming our sails and putting his hand to the tiller.”
